I worked with my classmates Lubna and Farah and designed and delivered SCAMPER as our tool presentation for our class as our audience. SCAMPER is one of the Creative Problem Solving divergent tools.

We taught the class about SCAMPER and demonstrated its use, we also provided a two page handout included directions for using the tool, tips and things to consider when using it, ways we might apply it, and finally we provided our classmates with references and resources to learn more about the tool.

Our scamper was on the huge fish tank at The American Community School. We thought that the fish and the tank needs time, effort, and money to maintain it. The waste from the fish and debris collect on the tank glass walls and on the gravel. The ammonia and nitrates in the water need to be at a certain level. The filter pads need a change every 10 days and finally, we need to provide bacterial supplement each time we change the water and many more issues.

We have asked the class to SCAMPER it. In other words, to come up with new ideas as we are trying to develop or improve the fish tank. This is where creative brainstorming can help such as SCAMPER. This tool helps generate ideas for new products and services by encouraging us to think about how we could improve existing ones.
